Spain – the finest attractions

There are plenty of different options to use when we like to visit some interesting place in Europe for summer holidays. Thanks to low prices on flights, we are able to choose some tropical resorts or big, European metropolis. But if you like to join both of this option, the best destination to choose will be Spain. What interesting attractions are waiting for a tourist in this beautiful country?

Barcelona

This is probably the most popular destination in Spain. Every year millions of travelers are visiting Barcelona to admire amazing architecture by Antonio Gaudi. The most famous masterpiece of this artist is Sagrada Familia cathedral, still unfinished. It is interesting combination of Gothic and Catalan style, with some influences of Art Nouveau. Another, nice building is Casa Mila, medium size mansion, situated in the center of Barcelona. The building is in shape of sea waves, exterior walls are covered with colourful stones and pieces of glass.

Madrid

Even if the capital of Spain is placed in the center part of a country, far away from the sea shore, still it is visited by plenty of travelers each year. Madrid can offer many of attractions, not only architectural. If you are an admirer of art, you will enjoy a trip to the Museum Prado. It has the biggest collection of Spanish artists, like Velazquez, Dali and Picasso. However, you may also see in there masterpieces of another, popular painters, like Rubens, Cezanne or Manet. Madrid is also filled with areas of greens, where you may rest and have lunch on a grass. If you like to see some nice example of Classical architecture, go for a tour to the Royal Palace. This building is a main residence of Spanish king, part of it chambers is opened for visitors.

Sevilla

This is one of the warmer cities of continental Spain. Sevilla is situated in the south part of a country, it used to be very important city during the Arabic domination. That is why Sevilla is filled with amazing, Mauritanian architecture. The best example is Alcazar, former residence of wealthy Islamic overlords. It has interesting interior design, but the most amazing is the garden, filled with wild plants. In Sevilla you will also find great example of work by Alfons Eiffel – the Bridge of Isabelle, founded in the late, nineteenth century. If you are admirer of sacral architecture you have to go to Saint Mary cathedral. This beautiful, Gothic temple was founded in the beginning of fifteenth century as a replacement for a Muslim temple.
