European Union is getting bigger and bigger each year, since the beginning of fifties, the date of foundation, it gains many dozens of members. Great idea about this union is also possibility to travel from one place to another without any control or even passports. But still some of European countries are requiring this document from Polish citizens and sometimes even a visa.

Schengen Zone

Couple of European countries doesn’t like to became a part of European Union, from many, mostly financial reasons. Those countries are Switzerland, Norway and Iceland. However, all those are very wealthy countries, that is why each is connected with UE by many important tracts, like Schengen for example. This is about special type of zone, within which people can transfer without any limits. Those three countries are part of it, that is why you don’t need to have a passport if you like to spend holidays in Norway, Iceland or Switzerland.

Only passport

Our eastern neighbour, Ukraine, is getting more and more popular among Polish citizens. Nothing surprising in that, cause over million of Ukrainian citizens are living in our country nowadays. However, if you like to visit Lviev or another, amazing city in there, you will require a passport. We have to remember, that Ukraine is still not a member of European Union. Another place where you need a passport to enter is Kosovo, small city-country, in the southern part of Europe. After long and terrible war it regains independence in 2008, however not every country on earth respect that. Now in Kosovo is very peaceful, you can go there to admire amazing architecture and to observe interesting culture of locals.

Passport and visa

Still, a lot of countries in the area of Europe are not open for Polish travelers. The most popular travel destinations for all of those is Turkey. If you are planning to spend a summer holidays in there you need not only your valid passport, but also a visa! Fortunately to get it you don’t need to spend a lot of money and time. You only have to pay couple dozens of dollars on the airport, just after landing. Similar situation is with Russia, we also need visa and passport to enter it. Also, if someone has a criminal history it is possible that won’t be even able to buy a plane ticket. Last country is Belorussia, very poor country with huge potential. If you like to spend holidays in a cheap place with a lot of attractions choose Belorussia. But do not forget to take valid passport with you, and visa.
